Dokas Plans Retirement
The $1.4 billion American Eagle Federal Credit Union in East Hartford, Conn., announced last week that William J. Dokas would retire on Jan. 2, 2015, after 42 years there, including 24 as president/CEO.
Dean Marchessault, the current EVP/COO, will become president/CEO on Jan. 3, the announcement said. He has been with the 103,200-member American Eagle since 2000.
Dokas began his career with the American Eagle in 1972 as a management trainee. He became a loan officer and then a branch manager. In 1980 he became vice president of lending and branch administration and then president/CEO of the then-$270 million credit union in 1990.
Marchessault has 35 years of financial services experience, including more than 20 years in management and executive positions of increasing responsibility for banks in Connecticut and Massachusetts, American Eagle said in its announcement.
