Postal Credit Union Embodies Ideal in June
Next month the $567 million Postal Credit Union, headquartered in Woodbury, Minn., will become Ideal Credit Union. The move will help it better serve a broader and more diverse membership, the credit union said.
“We chose a name that honors and reflects our commitment to members and our core values and mission,” said PCU President/CEO Brian Sherrick. “Ideal Credit Union was selected for its straightforward and strong connection to those values and the pride and everyday dedication we show to each and every member.”
Members will continue to receive the same excellent products, services and member care to which they have become accustomed, he said.
“Our growth and increased resources will allow us to serve our member/owners even better, as we continue to honor and live our mission,” Sherrick added.
The name change will not affect any aspect of the credit union's operations, though it will result in the NCUA recognizing the name change.
Up until now, the agency has continued to refer to the credit union as the St. Paul Postal Employees Credit Union, the name it had when it was founded in 1926.
That will be changed as of May 5, a credit union spokesman said in an email.
