Rodney May holds two jobs at the $2.9 billion Mid-Atlantic Corporate Federal Credit Union: senior vice president of member services and resident rapper.
Thanks to May’s rapping talents, the corporate said in a Thursday release it is getting noticed. Its newest video edition of “Around the Corporate” features May’s character “Rap Master May” promoting the corporate and its family of companies’ newest products and services.
The video is part of FInection, Mid-Atlantic Corporate’s video channel designed to inform, educate and entertain credit unions throughout the movement.
“The ‘Around the Corporate’ segment has always been a bit tongue in cheek,” said May, who serves as the program’s emcee. “It’s designed to update and share Corporate information with credit unions and our business partners in an interesting and, sometimes, whimsical way.”
FInection, whose name is a combination of the words Financial and Connection, showcases weekly economic updates with a credit union spin.
In addition to Around the Corporate, programs include Economic Updates, Corporate Account Manager Updates, and various business-related videos, such as Tips of the Week, and Events and Education.
Themes and scripts for the video segments are created by Mid-Atlantic Corporate’s marketing and video production team.
“The response to this month’s episode – and specifically Rap Master May’s rapping skills – has been positive,” said Jaime Agostino, marketing manager. “People seem to really be enjoying it – and they’re learning more about our corporate.”
According to Agostino, the video channel has been well received since its release last year, and is helping Mid-Atlantic Corporate modernize the way it communicates with members.
