NAFCU Expands Compliance Team
NAFCU has added three new members to its team of regulatory compliance counsels. The trade association cited increased in demand for compliance assistance among its members as the reason behind the move.
Bruyere, Nealon and Pineres
Brandy Bruyere, Alicia Nealon and Ricardo Pineres will be responsible for handling regulatory compliance inquiries from member credit unions, delivering presentations at NAFCU events and conferences and writing for the association’s newsletter publications and blog.
"NAFCU is responding to our members needs for timely compliance assistance as the regulatory environment and all its rules has drastically increased from all the various regulators,” NAFCU President/CEO Dan Berger told Credit Union Times.
Prior to joining NAFCU, Bruyere served as a financial law and policy analyst for the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security, focusing on issues related to derivatives regulations. Nealon worked at the NCUA in the Office of General Counsel. Pineres was previously employed at the Maryland & D.C. Credit Union Association as vice president of advocacy-legislative affairs.
“Bruyere, Nealon and Pineres are great additions to our already outstanding team, which is dedicated to providing our members with extreme member service,” said JiJi Bahhur, NAFCU’s director of regulatory compliance in a statement on Tuesday.
“I am confident that our team is well-equipped to keep the association’s members apprised of critical regulatory compliance issues that keep coming their way and to address their questions in a highly responsive, timely manner.”
