NCUA Launches Spanish Websites
The NCUA has launched Spanish versions of both its consumer website, MyCreditUnion.gov, and its financial literacy microsite, Pocket Cents, in recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month.
“Spanish-speaking consumers are now able to navigate a wealth of resources on NCUA’s consumer websites on topics like paying for higher education, planning for emergencies, and managing debt,” according to an agency press release issued on Thursday.
MyCreditUnion.gov and Pocket Cents show the public where to find a credit union to join, how credit unions operate and how to start one.
“During the last two decades, the number of Spanish speakers in America has more than doubled. Today, more than 36 million Americans speak Spanish at home,” said NCUA board chairman Debbie Matz.
“It is critical that these Spanish speakers have access to reliable resources for financial information. NCUA’s MyCreditUnion.gov and Pocket Cents provide consumers with timely and practical tips to assist them on their path to financial security,” she added.
