The $184 million Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union in Scranton, Pa., is joining the ranks of credit unions now offering off-hours service from live tellers through video teller machines.
The 22,200-member credit union has installed two APTRA Interactive Teller machines from NCR Corp. and plans to make remote tellers available 24 hours a day, seven days week. In effect, that’s increasing its branch service hours by 78%, the credit union said.
CEO Sean Jelen said, “What we really liked … was that it gives us an efficient way of extending our service hours, so that we can improve our members’ experience without increasing their costs.”
An NCR spokesman said the Atlanta-based company now has more than 60 financial institution clients in more than 30 states using the video teller machines.
