The $5.3 billion Alaska USA Federal Credit Union has opened a branch in Bellingham, the cooperative’s 26th location in the state of Washington.
Just last month, Anchorage-based Alaska USA opened a branch in Silverdale, Wash.
The branch is inside a Haggen Store in the Sehome Village shopping center in south Bellingham. The branch offers a full range of credit union services, including a depository, 24-hour ATM, and a self-service center. It will be open seven days a week and most holidays, Alaska USA said.
About 30 people attended a grand opening ceremony last week, including Marvin Riggs of the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce and Haggen Store Director Paul Cooley, the credit union said.
Alaska USA opened its first branch in Washington nearly 30 years ago.
The cooperative, which serves more than 477,000 members, also operates 34 branches in Alaska and seven in California.
