The $606 million St. Mary’s Credit Union in Marlborough, Mass, held a ribbon cutting and grand opening for a new branch earlier this week in Westborough.
Formerly a Friendly’s Restaurant, the building had been transformed into a full-service banking facility that will enable the credit union to expand its market in three communities. The credit union now operates seven branches.
“The credit union’s newest branch is located at the intersection of Routes 9 and 30 and provides a highly visible presence for us,” said St. Mary’s CU’s Marketing Vice President Tony Battista. “This location is especially convenient for people and businesses that bank with us from the communities of Westborough, Southborough and Grafton.”
Jim Petkewich, vice president of the credit union’s retail services, said the new branch has already attracted a lot of new members since it opened for business several weeks ago.
Participating in the ceremony were members of St. Mary’s board of directors and management as well as representatives from the town of Westborough and the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce.
