Belvoir FCU Sends Members on a Web Hunt
The $309 million Belvoir Federal Credit Union said its annual Web Hunt contest has continued to grow in popularity as the cooperative seeks to keep its members engaged.
The Woodbridge, Va.-based credit union said it recently awarded seven prizes, including a Windows 8 touchscreen laptop and an Amazon Kindle Fire, to members who participated in its fourth annual interactive Web Hunt.
The Web contest required members to search and collect eight hidden computer tablets on the credit union’s website.
When all tablets were collected, members also had to unscramble the letters shown on the tablets that revealed phrases. Members then added the phrases to the credit union’s Web Hunt Facebook page.
Belvoir FCU said the Web Hunt has become increasingly popular among members since it launched four years ago.
“The overall visits to the site for the Web Hunt were 188,951,” said Amy McConnell, digital marketing and public relations manager for Belvoir FCU. “The goal of the overall site visits was 176,421, a 5% increase from last year’s overall site visits. The 5% increase goal for the page views this year was 306,509, but we actually received 392,686 for this year’s Web Hunt.”
Belvoir FCU’s Facebook goal was to increase its fans by 5% or 81 fans. At the beginning of the campaign, the credit union’s Facebook page had 1,619 fans, the credit union said. By the campaign’s end, there were 1,716 fans, which was an increase of 97 fans.
“Belvoir Federal hosts the Web Hunt annually to keep members engaged and abreast of new products and services,” McConnell said. “It’s a great way to enhance our brand and increase our exposure.”
The winners were selected at random from all participants who completed the Web Hunt, according to Belvoir FCU. In addition to the grand prize winner receiving the Windows 8 laptop and the runner up winning the Amazon Kindle, the remaining five winners each received a $25 Best Buy gift card.
