Navy Federal Launches Cash Mob
To show its support of small businesses, Navy Federal Credit Union said it will give away $20 loyalty cards for users to patronize local shops in a Norfolk, Va., neighborhood.
The small business cash mob will take place Saturday within the Ghent community, according to the $54 billion credit union in Vienna, Va.
The first 100 participants to arrive at the parking lot outside the Mermaid Winery will receive a free t-shirt and a $20 Navy Federal Loyalty Card to spend during the cash mob.
Participants are encouraged to return with their receipts to Mermaid Winery’s parking lot after shopping for a chance to win drawing prizes, Navy Federal said. Refreshments, excluding alcohol, from the Mermaid Winery will be served. The event will be held rain or shine, and is open to all Navy Federal members and the general public, the credit union said.
In recognition of National Small Business Week, which kicks off June 17, Navy Federal Business Services said it aims to show its support for local small businesses within the communities it serves.
The cash mob also highlights and celebrates the Ghent shopping district and the positive, economic impact it has in the Norfolk community, the credit union said.
