GFA Federal Credit Union, Gardner, Mass., has appointed Lisa Lastella marketing director. Lastella will lead community outreach and marketing initiatives for the organization, including the celebrations of GFA’s 75th Anniversary, the opening of its Peterborough branch, the April opening of the newly constructed Leominster branch, as well as marketing for GFA’s Better Banking programs. Lastella has more than seven years experience in writing, planning and marketing. She worked at HealthAlliance Hospital from 2011–2012 as capital campaign manager. She also served as Heywood Hospital’s marketing and communications coordinator from 2006–2011. Lastella has previous professional experience at Jones & Bartlett Publishers and Girls Inc. of New Hampshire. Lastella is a graduate of Rivier College with a bachelor of arts in communications and public relations.
Kinecta Federal Credit Union, Manhattan Beach, Calif., announced that Christopher L. Crockett has joined the organization as senior vice president, member services. Crockett is responsible for overseeing retail services, the member contact center, risk operations, and card administration and services. Crockett comes to Kinecta from City National Bank, La Jolla, Calif., where as he served as senior vice president/regional banking manager. He previously was senior vice president, chief retail banking officer at San Diego National Bank, where he managed marketing, human resources, consumer/SFR lending, central operations, information technology, corporate real estate/OREO and nondeposit investment. Crockett earned a bachelor of science degree in Public Affairs from the University of Southern California.
St. Helens Federal Credit Union, St. Helens, Ore., announced the addition of Bill Reinhard as its new director of commercial solutions. In this role, Reinhard will lead SHCU’s commercial solutions team. Reinhard brings more than 25 years of related experience to his position, having most recently served as a commercial relationship manager for Umpqua Bank in Eugene, Ore. As a commercial lender and vice president with Liberty Bank, Reinhard helped build the bank’s commercial division into a $50 million business. Reinhard completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California and is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.
San Diego County Credit Union, San Diego, Calif., announced that Dale Turner has been named senior vice president, real estate. Turner will have responsibility for loan portfolio management, including development and implementation of real estate strategies and transactions from conceptual scope of development to project execution. In addition to managing and protecting assets held in SDCCU’s real estate loan portfolio, Turner will oversee real estate lending and processing activities, including first mortgages, construction loans and real estate home equity loans. Prior to joining SDCCU, Turner served as vice president of lending at Eli Lilly Federal Credit Union in Indianapolis. Prior to Eli Lilly FCU, he was the head of retail lending for First National Bank in Bemidji, Minn. He has a bachelor’s degree from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind. He also earned a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, East Lansing, Mich., announced the hiring of Christina Minnis as the vice president of marketing. Minnis has worked at MSUFCU since November 2012 and was previously the executive director of marketing for Douglas J Companies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and management from Northwood University.
Security Service Federal Credit Union, San Antonio, has named Charles Goss senior vice president/chief lending officer. He is responsible for indirect lending, direct lending, mortgage and asset recovery. Goss returns to SSFCU after three years as chief lending officer at Golden 1 Credit Union. Prior to heading to the West Coast, he served 13 years working through the ranks at SSFCU, eventually rising to vice president of Texas lending. He holds a bachelor’s in business administration with a concentration in finance from Southwest Texas State University. The credit union also announced that Mike Martinez has been promoted to senior vice president of military affairs. A Marine Corps veteran who served during the Vietnam War, Martinez will serve as the primary liaison with military installation commands. Martinez joined SSFCU in 1997 as a service center manager, serving as senior vice president of member service since 2004. He holds a degree in business from the College of the Desert in Twenty-Nine Palms, Calf.. Security Service FCU separately announced that John Worthington has been promoted to executive vice president/chief communications officer, responsible for leading the credit union’s programs for legislative affairs; community service; public relations; and industry, civic and trade association participation. Prior to joining SSFCU in 1994 as vice president of marketing, Worthington served for 26 years in the U.S. Air Force, holding key public affairs positions. including assignments in the Pentagon with the Air Force Office of Public Affairs and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He also served as commander of the Air Force Broadcasting Service, directing Air Force broadcast activities around the world.
