A 36-year member of the Postal Credit Union Board of Directors who steps down at the end of this month has been awarded the Credit Union Builder Award from the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation.
Roger McClure joined the board of the St. Paul credit union in 1977 and has served in a number of key positions as Postal CU grew from one branch in the main post office to five offices, $540 million in assets and 45,500-members.
He also spent “countless hours lobbying state and national lawmakers on issues of importance to the industry and PCU,” the MnCUF said.
The foundation, part of the Minnesota Network of Credit Unions, presents the award to people who have dedicated time and energy to building the credit union movement, the MnCUF said.
“On behalf of the credit union industry in Minnesota, I thank Roger for the time he spent as a tireless advocate and avid supporter,” said MnCUF Chair Pat Brekken, president/CEO of the $251 million Richfield-Bloomington CU in Richfield, Minn.
The foundation said McClure joins 14 other Credit Union Builder Award recipients over the past six years whose names and credit unions are permanently displayed in the Minnesota Credit Union Network's lobby.
