Nearly 1,300 of the 57,800 members of the $741 million Xceed Financial Credit Union in El Segundo, Calif., have signed up to deposit checks by smartphone and tablet since the service launched in January, the Los Angeles-area credit union said this week.
Xceed Mobile Deposit, using remote deposit capture technology from Intuit Financial Services, functions as inside the credit union’s secured apps for iPhone and Android.
Xceed said more than 250 members already are active users.
Nearly 1,300 members have registered for Xceed Mobile Deposit since the service’s rollout in January, and more than 250 members are already active users. According to Xceed Financial President and Chief Executive Teresa Y. Freeborn, the release of Xceed Mobile Deposit demonstrates the credit union’s commitment to providing secure, user-friendly, time-saving services to members when they are on the go.
“Our members already value the access we provide through our expansive network of Financial Centers and ATMs, as well as Xceed Online with uTransfer, and Xceed Mobile,” said Xceed President/CEO Teresa Freeborn.
“Xceed Mobile Deposit takes that convenience to the next level by enabling members to deposit checks from their smartphones when they don’t want to bother with mail or making an in-person deposit,” said Freeborn, whose credit union now has 15 offices in six states.
