CommunityAmerica’s Financial Planning Caters to Special Needs Children

To assist families that have children with special needs, CommunityAmerica Credit Union has enhanced its financial planning program.

Through an alliance with broker-dealer CUSO Financial Services LP, the $1.8 billion cooperative in Lenexa, Kan., has added the Special Needs Planning Center to its Financial Planning Services Group.

Formed to exclusively serve the special needs community, the center is dedicated to assisting families in coordinating their legal and financial planning with the intent of preserving government benefits such as Social Security and ensuring the continuity of quality care for their loved ones, according to CommunityAmerica.

Mike Haggerty, vice president of CommunityAmerica Financial Planning Services, said the center will help the credit union expand its reach to more families with children with special needs.

Scott Adams, founder of the Special Needs Planning Center, said the new services will have an impact for years to come.

“We believe the additional resources and the credit union’s unparalleled community outreach and altruistic approach is a perfect match that will enhance the work we do to help Kansas City families and future generations live more fulfilling lives,” Adams said.
