The NCUA has set its 2013 schedule of free training workshops for small credit unions. Fifteen workshops have been scheduled in the following cities:
- March 22 – Richmond, Va.
- April 4 – Philadelphia and Chicago
- April 25 – Portland, Ore.
- April 27 – New York
- May 2 – Detroit
- May 18 – Denver
- June 22 – Houston
- June 28 – Minneapolis
- July 20 – Honolulu
- July 25 – Pittsburgh
- Aug. 15 – Memphis, Tenn.
- Sept. 12 – Cleveland
- Sept. 28 – Buffalo, N.Y.
- Oct. 17 – New Orleans
Staff members from the NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives will provide participants with information and best practices on the examination process, strategic planning, fraud detection, leadership and fair lending compliance.
In addition, the program will feature insights from leaders in the credit union industry, including representatives from CUES, Real Solutions, CUNA Mutual Group and the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions.
Scholarships up to $350 per workshop are available to assist attendees with travel costs. To qualify, applicants must be from a credit less than $50 million in assets, a low-income designated credit union, or a credit union chartered for less than 10 years. There are 10 scholarships available for each workshop.
