CU Benefits Alliance has partnered with Cigna to provide a group health benefits program to credit union employees.
The CU Benefits/Cigna credit union program aims to offer competitive pricing and account management usually only available for larger groups, according to CU Benefits Alliance in Salem, Ore.
The program also offers self-funding solutions designed for employers with as few as 51 employees and improved employees health and productivity through wellness programs such as health coaching, biometric screenings, health assessments and lifestyle management programs, the CUSO said.
Employees can also have access to full online monthly reporting and around-the-clock customer service.
The $582 million Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union has already signed on to the CU Benefits/Cigna program.
“Moving to the Alliance has worked for us and helped me as an HR executive manage our benefits program effectively,” said Tonita Webb, chief human resources officer for Seattle Metro CU. “The information that is provided gives us data that helps us design an appropriate benefits plan and budget appropriately.”
John Harris, CEO of CU Benefits Alliance, said Cigna was a natural choice to improving the overall human resources experience and health benefits delivery system for credit unions.
“Working with a carrier that has national scale and a track record serving credit unions and understanding the needs of smaller employers were critical,” Harris said.
The CU Benefits/Cigna program currently serves more than 1,500 credit union employees and their family members and is available to credit unions with 51 or more employees in most states, according to CU Benefits Alliance.
