Fourteen Indiana credit union representatives have been selected to be part of ignite, an initiative of the Indiana Credit Union League that focuses on developing innovations to help credit unions improve the financial lives of their members.
“We’re proud of the track record of leadership development and collaboration that ignite has fostered,” said ICUL Director Doug True, president/CEO of the $937 million FORUM Credit Union in Indianapolis. “Many of our igniters have gone on to other successes at their credit unions and some have used their experience with ignite to contribute to projects that have a national scope.”
At the group’s first meeting of the year, held earlier this month, the igniters were organized into small working groups to begin developing their 2013 innovations.
So far, 21 innovations have been developed by ignite participants. Several ignite innovations have been adopted by credit unions in Indiana and elsewhere, according to the ICUL.
To develop and promote them, members of the working groups attend periodic meetings coordinated by ICUL and make presentations during the league convention, the annual Hoosier CUES meeting, and at several chapter meetings around the state.
The 14 Indiana credit union representatives are Amy Benner of the $183 million Solidarity Community FCU in Kokomo; Amy Wells of the $2.3 billion Teachers Credit Union in South Bend; Andrea Buescher of the $857 million Evansville Teachers FCU in Evansville; Ashli Moore of the $1 billion Eli Lilly FCU in Indianapolis; Bryan Myers of the $412 million Crane FCU in Odon; Darlene Beers of the $754 million Purdue FCU in West Lafayette; David Dekker and Staci Goss of the $621 million Interra CU in Goshen; Kelly Baran of the $937 million FORUM CU; Lee Cramer and Sven Leander of the $430 million Finance Center FCU in Indianapolis; Micaela Wise of the $58 million AAA FCU in South Bend; Tony Belton of the $82 million General CU in Fort Wayne, and Deidra Davis of the $433 million Notre Dame FCU in South Bend.
