CUNA Mutual Offers Obamacare Management Resources
CUNA Mutual Group in Madison, Wis. is partnering with Digital Insurance to provide additional resources, expertise and education to help credit unions navigate the complexities of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and employee benefits strategy.
The partnership will bring credit unions a broader variety of proprietary tools to help credit unions comply with Obamacare requirements, said Adam Bruckman, president/CEO of Digital Insurance, an Atlanta-based employee benefits agency specializing in insurance for small and mid-sized businesses.
Though some provisions of the health care reform law are already in effect, the bulk of its mandates that will have the biggest cost impact on credit unions and their employees will kick in this year and in 2014.
“Health care reform is changing the way businesses offer and fund employee health plans,” said Brad Pricer, CUNA Mutual’s senior manager of employee benefits. “Regardless of whether a credit union opts to offer employee health insurance going forward, it will need to take action to ensure it is compliant with the new law.”
CUNA Mutual Group said its employee benefits customers will continue to receive service from the same people they have worked with in the past and will have the same method of contact. Educational tools and webinars, as well as new resources, will now be available to better meet credit unions’ employee benefits needs, the company said.
Credit unions can still access information on the PPACA, including timelines, legislative briefs, notices and forms at www.cunamutual.com/HealthCareReform.
