"We've never had a truckload of supplies quite this size every come through here" said Jane Tuttle, executive director of House of Hope, as credit union volunteers drop off the donated goods. "You have no idea how much this helps us."
A thousand dollars’ worth of much-needed household supplies was delivered to the House of Hope homeless ministry in Florence, S.C., recently by the South Carolina credit unions’ Making a Difference, Passing it On, or MADTAG, campaign.
Florence-area credit unions participating in the campaign collected and donated the items after the ministry asked the public for help with its need for operational supplies.
"The credit union mantra is people helping people, and this was an opportunity for credit unions around Florence to collaboratively pitch in and help make a difference in our community" said Will Crosswell, business development director at the $36 million Palmetto First FCU in Florence.
