The Credit Unions for Kids/Children’s Miracle Network programs at two Oregon hospitals, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland and Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene, will receive $25,000 thanks to an internal fundraising campaign at the $787 million OSU Federal Credit Union in Corvallis, Ore.
OSU Federal said as part of a dollar-for-dollar match program, the credit union’s staff of 200 pledged their own money to the Credit Union Legislative Action Council, which resulted in a match of $15,000 from the credit union for the two hospitals.
Additionally, OSU Federal partner CO-OP Financial Services of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. presented a match of $10,000, the maximum grant amount out of its Children’s Miracle Network-dedicated Miracle Match program, for the campaign, OSU Federal said.
CO-OP Financial Services’ match brought the CUSO’s total Children’s Miracle Network contributions to $2.7 million in the past year, according to Nina Kopp, regional vice president for CO-OP Financial Services.
“Credit unions in Oregon have supported Credit Unions for Kids in different ways for many years,” said Richard Hein, CEO for OSU Federal. “Our team dedicated this year to tie two great causes together to make a difference. The staff invested in the credit union’s future and at the same time contributed to the future of kids.”
Headquartered in the home city of Oregon State University, OSU Federal serves more than 73,000 members in Oregon’s Benton, Lincoln, Linn, Marion and Polk counties.
