November got a little hairy at Service 1st Federal Credit Union in Danville, Pa. In order to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer, Service 1st introduced “No Shave November,” a program to get employees involved in raising awareness and money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. 

Service 1st agreed to donate $100 to the foundation for each employee who  participated in No Shave November. In total, every male employee at Service 1st participated in the fundraiser, letting their facial hair grow throughout the month. 

In addition, Service 1st organized a dress-down day during which employees could donate a minimum of $3 to participate. The dress-down day generated over $246 in donations from employees and members.

In total, $2,046 will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

In addition, Service 1st employees have the opportunity to vote on their coworkers’ facial hair style. A winner will be selected for manliest beard, most distinguished beard and funniest beard.
