The Massachusetts District Office of the SBA recently recognized Freedom Credit Union for its SBA lending efforts.
The $513 million cooperative in Springfield, Mass., was named the SBA’s top 7(a) lender in total dollars for the Western Massachusetts region, the agency said.
Freedom said it approved seven loans totaling $2.8 million this year.
At a recent ceremony held in Boston, Bryan Kaye, Freedom’s commercial loan officer, accepted the SBA’s award on behalf of the credit union.
Freedom serves more than 26,000 members.
