It's Up, And It's Good! Oklahoma State Fan Nails $25,000 Kick

Many folks who watched football over the Thanksgiving weekend heard this a few times: “The kick is up….and…the kick is good!” But for WEOKIE Credit Union member James Liles, the kick was not only good, it was worth $25,000.

James Liles, 32, of Mustang, Okla., was randomly selected from 1,874 people who entered a contest to kick a 35-yard field goal in WEOKIE’s “Kick for Cash” promotion with Oklahoma State University.

Liles attended the OSU vs. Texas Tech game on Nov. 17 at Cowboy Stadium in Stillwater, Okla., and made the field goal to win $25,000 – compliments of the $870 million WEOKIE Credit Union in Oklahoma City.

The promotion with Oklahoma State University featured WEOKIE’s 1.99% auto loan rate and allowed those that entered a chance to kick for cash at a Cowboy’s home game.

Liles said he is a huge Cowboys fan and entered the contest because kicking the field goal for a chance to win $25,000 was an “opportunity of a lifetime” that he couldn’t pass up.

Brent Taylor, WEOKIE president/CEO, congratulated Liles after making the $25,000 field goal and noted that "WEOKIE is committed to changing the financial lives of members."
