Truliant FCU Merging Small Virginia Credit Union

The $1.6 billion, 196,700-member Truliant Federal Credit Union will be merging the 1,500-member, $2.4 million New River Valley Truck Plant Federal Credit Union.

The Winston-Salem, N.C., credit union said the members of the smaller credit union – which serves the Volvo truck manufacturing plant in Dublin, Va. – have approved the merger.

Among Truliant’s 22 branches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio and Virginia is one a few miles from the small credit union’s office in Radford, Va.

Reasons cited for the merger included presence in the area and an expanded offering of products, services and channels for the new members.

“We are pleased to continue to serve these members and maintain the relationship that has been established over the years,” said Truliant CEO Marcus Schaefer.
