Hurricane Sandy: First Data Reimburses ATM Fees Because of Sandy
First Data Corp, the privately held payment processing giant, has announced it will reimburse ATM fees from its Money Network ATMs in 14 states most impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

The company said ATM fees incurred on Money Network cards between Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 are being reversed for tens of thousands of account holders in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia. Credits were applied to users’ accounts throughout the week of Nov. 5. Account holders were contacted via email and text about receiving credits, the company said.
“Our thoughts and concerns are with those affected by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy,” said Mark Putman, senior vice president, Prepaid Solutions, First Data. “We are working diligently to ensure that customers have the services and solutions they need during this critical time.”
