The $180 million, 20,200-member Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union in Houston has hired Cameron Dickey as its new president.
Dickey, a 20-year veteran of financial services, will succeed the retiring Debbie Blackshear.
“Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union is excited to be bringing someone of Cameron’s capabilities and proven track record on board to lead the credit union,” said Deborah Jackson, Cy-Fair board chairman.
“His values and strategic growth experience are a great match with our organization and we look forward to building upon the strong organization that Debbie has led during her 18 years as president,” Jackson said in the announcement.
Dickey had been executive vice president of Stewart Title, overseeing the company’s credit union services division and its Pacific Northwest sales and marketing. He also has been vice president of retail sales and service at Advantis Credit Union and president/CEO of Providence FCU, both in the Portland, Ore., area.
His new employer also noted that Dickey is experienced in international micro-finance consulting and economic development in developing countries, including Uzbekistan and Kenya, where he helped AIDS-ravaged communities meet the needs of orphans and use micro-lending to small landowners to help agricultural development. His volunteer consulting with the World Council of Credit Unions also has taken him to Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Papua New Guinea.

Cy-Fair was created in 1956 to serve educators in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. It was granted a community charter in 2005 and now offers membership to anyone living, working, worshipping or attending school within the CFISD boundaries and Waller County, Texas.
