The $5.2 billion, 545,000-member Suncoast Schools FCU has opened its 52nd and 53rd branches, the Tampa, Fla., credit union said.
A grand opening will be held Friday at its 52nd branch, in Chiefland, Fla., with live music, food and a chance at the “money machine” for 90 seconds and a grab for cash in exchange for 10 non-perishable food items. Drawings for two iPads also will be held, Suncoast Schools said.
“Research and trends tell us that credit unions are playing an increasingly important role in the lives of consumers. Opening our new branch in Chiefland serves to meet the needs of new and existing members in this community,” said Tom Dorety, president/CEO of Florida’s largest credit union.
The 53rd branch also has just opened in Charlotte Harbor, Fla., the credit union said. Several weeks ago, Suncoast Schools opened its first new branch in five years, a facility in West Tampa.
Suncoast Schools FCU was chartered in 1934 as Hillsborough County Teachers Credit Union and now serves the following Florida counties: Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Hillsborough, Lee, Levy, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas and Sumter.
