Missouri League Names Interim CEO

Mike Beall, president/CEO of the Missouri Credit Union Association,  announced his intention to leave MCUA effective Nov. 15. Beall has accepted a new position as the president/CEO of the National Cooperative Business Association in Washington.

The MCUA executive committee has named Chief Membership Officer Don Cohenour as interim president/CEO of the organization.

“Don brings a deep understanding of the board’s strategic plan and initiatives like the Statewide Consumer OutreachProgram and our Community Development Financial Institutions Initiative,” said league Chairman Dennis Pierce. “He will do a great job driving these strategic programs into 2013 and beyond.”

Cohenour’s  career at MCUA has centered on the provision of consulting and operational advice to Missouri’s credit unions, most recently as chief membership officer. He is a former credit union CEO, consultant with the Kansas Department of credit unions and controller of US Central Credit Union.

“Mike has provided strong leadership and has helped set the direction and vision to help MCUA and the credit unions of Missouri succeed,” said Pierce. “Mike’s new work at NCBA will put him at the center of national advocacy for cooperatives—including credit unions–as well as with the multiple international development projects that are his passion.”
