The video begins with Sean reviewing his bank statement on his desktop, bemoaning his bank fees. Then, while Sean drives into his bank’s parking lot, a well-dressed banker greets him with his hand out saying “that will be a $2 bank parking fee.”
The banker appears in Sean’s home and assesses him with fees for taking a milk carton out of the refrigerator, using his mobile phone, making sense, getting angry, using bad grammar and sleeping.
This funny video is one of three that was produced by marketing firm, I Wear Your T Shirt, for a group of South Carolina credit union professionals who created and trademarked Every Day is Bank Transfer Day.
The trademark phrase was transferred to CUNA and every credit union is allowed to use it at no charge for their own marketing or promotional purposes, said Troy B. Hall, who is one of the leaders of Every Day is Bank Transfer Day initiative. The South Carolina Credit Union League recently posted the video on its web site. SCCUL and CUNA have been encouraging credit unions to use and promote the phrase in marketing campaigns.
“I’ve been speaking across the country on this particular topic to get credit unions across the nation to adopt this these six words as a rallying cry and to be able to promote the phrase on a regular, consistent basis,” said Hall, chief operations officer for $1.3 billion South Carolina Federal Credit Union in North Charleston, S.C.
Although the first anniversary of Bank Transfer Day is Nov. 5, Hall said his group decided to designate October as Every Day is Bank Transfer to avoid being trumped by the national election and to coincide with International Credit Union Day.
