CU Water Cooler Symposium Next Week in Nashville

Attendees will gather next week at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 4-5 for the 2012 CU Water Cooler Symposium.

Launched three years ago, the two-day thought-provoking, action-driven “unconference” was created as a way to share, rethink everyday norms and act on ideas designed to help push the credit union industry forward.

Credit Union Times will again be onsite covering the Symposium and live streaming the event.

Offering a mix of both industry insiders and those outside the credit union realm, this year, in addition to the Water Cooler editors, the eclectic lineup of speakers and topics will range from ReCourses Inc. principal David Baker’s Branding is Dead and Aite Group Senior Analyst Ron Shevlin’s Most Important Strategic Decision Credit Unions Can Make, to Keith Leggett, vice president/senior economist at the American Bankers Association, providing An Outsider’s View of Credit Unions.

Credit Union Times Editor-in-Chief/Publisher Sarah Snell Cooke will lead the Q&A with Leggett and moderate the third installment of Not for CEOs, a program in which experts and attendees together drive the conversation.

The panel of experts – Matt Davis, innovation director, Filene Research Institute, Matt Monge, chief culture officer at Mazuma CU in Kansas City, Mo., and Gene Blishen, general manager at British Columbia’s Mount Lehman CU – will join Cooke on stage Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. EDT to talk personal branding.

The Friday afternoon event will be live streaming at CUTimes.com/NotforCEOs and as always questions can be tweeted using the hashtag #NotforCEOs.
