CUtopia Adds to Core Client List

Five more small credit unions have committed to the cloud-based OASys core processing system from CUtopia, according to the division of Worldwide Interactive Services LLC in Orlando, Fla.

They are the $1.5 million, 235-member Gary Police Department Employees FCU in Gary, Ind.; the $748,000, 220-member Murphy CU in Minneapolis; the $3.4 million, 490-member Dixie Craft Employees CU in Goodwater, Ala.; the $758,000, 175-member CC Van Wert CU in Van Wert, Ohio; and the $1.3 million, 274-member Concora Wabash FCU in Wabash, Ind.

“It provides us with all the tools to run our credit union just like the larger institutions with the security and peace of mind of being fully hosted. The pricing made it very affordable for our small credit union,” said Barbara Nihart, manager of Murphy CU.

The Gary credit union currently is a Fiserv DataSafe user, according to the Technology Survey from Callahan & Associates, while the other four all are using core systems from Harland Financial Services.

CUTopia now has about 45 customers either live or signed to its processing platform, which it began offering in 2010 after buying the former CUMAS operation out of Texas and modifying that platform.
