Allpoint Moves into Canada

Cardtronics Inc. said it has added Canada to its international market for the industry’s largest surcharge-free ATM network.

The Bethesda, Md., operator of the Allpoint Network said more than 470 7-Eleven stores in Canada will now host the ATMs.

Cardtronics said it now provides access to credit unions to its 53,000 U.S. ATMs through switches to the credit union-owned CO-OP Financial Services and Credit Union 24, and offers surcharge free services to hundreds of credit unions through its Allpoint network.

The Canadian service joins the company’s American operations and its presence in Australia, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom, Cardtronics said.

“Consumers have spoken—when it comes to surcharge-free ATMs, the more locations, the better,” said Ben Psillas, Allpoint Network president.
