People’s CU Plans Core Conversion

Rhode Island Credit Union Chooses COCC Platform

COCC said the $381 million, 75,000-member People’s Credit Union of Middletown, R.I., plans to convert to a new core processing platform from the Avon, Conn., service bureau.

The credit union cited an integrated CRM solution which automatically tracks and reports member contacts via all business channels in its decision.

“Using COCC’s best practices, we expect to significantly reduce the amount of manual work being performed by staff, freeing up capacity to meet member service needs and to concentrate on sales. We look forward to significant growth without adding to staff,” said Amy Martel, executive vice president and chief operating officer at the Newport-area credit union.

The 90-year-old People’s CU currently is running on an FIS Miser platform, according to the Technology Survey from Callahan & Associates.

Client-owned COCC, which uses the core processing solution from Open Solutions Inc. in an outsourced environment, also offers its users an app store where company- and user-developed add ons can be downloaded, tested and purchased.
