SafeAmerica Appoints Barry Roach CEO

Roach to Leave Meriwest CU

SafeAmerica Credit Union Board announced that Barry Roach will be its new president/CEO. Roach was previously the vice president of retail delivery at Meriwest Credit Union, based in San Jose, Calif.

Prior to joining Meriwest, he was a national senior consultant for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Toronto. While there, he implemented national sales and marketing programs for the bank’s branch and small business banking teams across the country.

Roach is an experienced and educated retail banking professional and a proven leader, SafeAmerica said in its announcement. Roach holds an MBA in finance from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

SafeAmerica Credit Union, based in Pleasanton, Calif., has assets of $284.7 million.
