A group of teen volunteers in Albany, N.Y., helped get fellow students ready to go back to school recently by preparing more than 280 backpacks of school supplies. It was part of the CAP COM Cares Foundation’s annual drive to help ensure families in economic hardship can equip their children with such necessities as backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons and rulers.
The group also spent some time at the headquarters of the $965 million CAP COM FCU’s headquarters meeting and talking about the importance of volunteering. The backpacks were then delivered to local shelters, centers, schools and the Albany YMCA.
