NerdWallet has recently named its top credit union marketing campaigns from the last two years.
Campaigns ran the gamut from funny to practical but those selected stood out for their creativity in pushing purpose more than product.
Some of the top picks included Salem, Ore.-based Maps Credit Union’s Buy Local program which offered two coupons from local Oregon businesses each month on their website and at their branches. Businesses get to advertise to a new audience and Maps reimburses them for the coupon savings at a negotiated discount.
In addition, Listerhill Credit Union based in Muscle Shoals, Ala. , “Just Move It” Campaign, to refinance loans where locals could get a lower rate and up to $200 cash as incentive got a nod.
Over in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the DoPack Kids Club at Dupaco Community Credit Union was recognized for not only promoting savings, but also encouraging young members to be active in their local community events and businesses by earning DoBucks for each activity, redeemable for DoPack gear.
