The $886 million Andrews Federal Credit Union in Suitland, Md., will be converting to the Symitar Episys core processing platform and running it in-house, the company and credit union said.
The 96,300-member Andrews FCU cited stability, product evolution and integration with third-party solutions in its decision and said it expects to see efficiency gains of an estimated 20% through automation that includes a contact center and account opening.
The credit union said it also will deploy other Symitar solutions, including online banking, IVR, personal financial management, member relationship management and data warehousing tools.
"The added efficiencies will enable us to provide better member service and, at the end of the day, it is all about giving our members the products and services they need as well as the attention they deserve," said Jim Hayes, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Andrews FCU.
Andrews FCU currently runs on the UltraData platform from Harland Financial Solutions and uses the FundsXpress home banking system, according to the Technology Survey from Callahan and Associates.
Symitar is a San Diego-based division of Jack Henry & Associates Inc. of Monett, Mo., and said it now serves more than 750 credit unions.
