Star One Taps Tyfone

Calif. CU Offers Mobile Banking to Members

The 89,400 members of the $6.1 billion Star One Credit Union in Sunnyvale, Calif., are now being offered mobile banking services through technology from Tyfone of Portland, Ore.

The service is available through Apple and Android apps.

Functionality includes balances, history, transfers, GPS-enabled branch and ATM locators, alerts, enhanced authentication security and what the company calls a seamless path to NFC contactless payment technology.

“Tyfone’s mobile financial services platform allows Star One to securely offer members the latest innovations in mobile banking that are truly relevant to their digital lifestyles,” said Margaret Mucker, Star One’s vice president of remote services.

Tyfone Mobile Banking is built on top of the company’s u4ia mobile financial services platform that also enables contactless payments using near field communications and strong authentication ID management for financial institutions seeking to move into digital wallet and expanded payment services, the company said.
