Shown here at the Rockfish VFD are, left, Bill Carter of LGFCU Financial Partners, Rockfish VFD Chief Todd Wood, U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers, Hoke County Commissioner Ellen McNeill, Rockfish VFD Board President George Blue and Dan Schline, senior vice president of the N.C. Credit Union League.
The lending work of credit unions was highlighted for Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) when the congresswoman paid a visit recently to the Rockfish Volunteer Fire Department in Raeford, N.C. The department obtained a loan from LGFCU Financial Partners, the commercial lending division of the $1.2 billion Local Government Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, for a station renovation and addition. Ellmers is a co-sponsor of the House bill that would raise the member business lending cap for credit unions.
