Credit Union Mobile Apps on Kindle Tablets

Five credit unions are now offering their members a mobile app for their Kindle Fire tablets through CU Mobile Apps at the Amazon Apps Store, its developer said.

They are the $63 million First Financial CU of Skokie, Ill., $42 million Guardian FCU of Portsmouth, Va., $367 million Enrichment FCU in Oak Ridge, Tenn., $448 million Gulf Coast Educators FCU of Pasadena, Texas, and $4 billion Police & Fire FCU of Philadelphia.

CU Mobile Apps, from Member Service Solutions LLC of Franklin, Tenn., uses what it calls an App Engine platform to create customized apps for smartphone and tablet users on Apple and Android platforms, as well.

Working with a Florida software developer, Member Service Solutions began offering CU Mobile Apps last year and said it now has 20 clients using the original offering.
