Calling for Kermit

In just two nights volunteering on the phone bank SAFE Credit Union staffers recently helped raise more than $15,000 for Sacramento’s PBS TV station KVIE.

Joined by Henry Wirz, SAFE president/CEO, members of the executive team and staffers from SAFE’s local call center rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to help. Wirz chairs KVIE’s board of directors, and the credit union also underwrites the local documentary series ViewFinder.

According to the local PBS station, volunteer phone banks have been pivotal to the success of KVIE’s on-air membership drives and help in the production and broadcast of insightful programs designed to enrich the lives of viewers throughout California’s Central Valley.
