The smiles on these Marines’ faces is because it’s time again for Toys for Tots, the nationwide annual Christmas toy drive by the U.S. Marines Corps Reserves and the Toys for Tots Foundation. Here, the collection of unwrapped toys kicks off at the Tuscan Lake Branch of AMOCO FCU of Texas City, Texas, with the help of the branch staff and Gunnery Sgt. Jose S. Rodriguez, the Galveston County Toys for Tots coordinator this year, and Lance Cpl. Hector R. Reyes of the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots. AMOCO FCU also is partnering with local businesses and organizations by creating a tribute calendar that will feature 12 local Marines veterans who still play an influential role in the community today. The calendars will be sold at the credit union’s branches, area businesses and online starting Nov. 30.
