NCUA Bans Former Missouri CU Manager

Sandra Ann Jeffers Conviced of Embezzlement from P.C. Glassworkers CU

A former manager at a small Missouri credit union has been banned by the NCUA from participating in the affairs of a federally insured financial institution.

The order against Sandra Ann Jeffers was issued Aug. 29 in a case involving the $1 million 320-member P.C. Glassworkers Credit Union in Sedalia, Mo.

Court records show that Jeffers admitted that she cut checks to herself from four different members’ accounts on 23 separate occasions, accounting for a total loss of approximately $35,000 that was reimbursed by the NCUA.

The loss was discovered in a 2009 audit.

Jeffers had been sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nanette Laughrey of the Western District of Missouri to six months in prison and three years of probation after pleading guilty to embezzlement.

She also was ordered to pay $42,838.78 in restitution. She could have been sentenced to up to 30 years in prison and fined $1 million.
