Hoops Fan Shows Freedom Some Love

Helen Coleman displays her Big 5 quilt, with help from Freedom Credit Union CEO Lee MacMinn (left) and Executive Vice President/COO John King. The Philadelphia high school teacher, a member since 1995, showed her credit union some love by bringing in a bedspread her mother made entirely from "Big 5" rally towels. More than 40 towels went into the bedspread, which measures more than 8 feet long. The rally towels were originally distributed at Philadelphia Big 5 college basketball games during the 2005-06 season, when Freedom was the title sponsor of the “Big 5 50th Anniversary Celebration.” Coleman, an avid fan of the college hoopsters, collected the towels when fans left them behind at games.
