Olympic Medals for Reading

Lincoln Elementary School recently hosted the Pottstown School District’s Reading Olympics. John Faust (far right), president/CEO of Diamond Credit Union, and Chip, Diamond CU’s mascot (rear, center), were on hand to share in the competition.

Diamond Credit Union has sponsored the Pottstown School District’s Reading Olympics Program for six consecutive years, providing team T-shirts and financial support to help purchase books and transportation to events.

The Reading Olympics is a rapid-recall question and answer competition that asks teams of students to answer questions pulled from 40 to 50 books. The event helps children learn about teamwork and improve reading comprehension skills.

"This event is a great opportunity for the kids in our community to get excited about reading. We are honored to have been a part of this event and to see these talented kids in action, year after year," said Faust.

Diamond Credit Union is headquartered in Pottstown, Pa. with two additional offices in Reading. Diamond has $358 million in assets and 39,500 members.
