Mobile banking for smartphones and other Web-enabled devices is now being offered by the $1 billion Numerica Credit Union in Spokane, Wash.
The credit union's 87,000 members can use applications they download from the Android Market or Apple App Store or use their device's browser to view transactions, transfer funds or find a branch or ATM. Up to five mobile devices can be registered to an account.
The mobile service uses SSL encryption, and multi-factor authentication will be required the first time a user logs in through the credit union's home banking service.
Numerica CU offers membership to anyone who lives or works in Washington state or the Idaho panhandle.
