NAFCU Urges NCUA to Disclose More Information to Potential Merger Partners

The NCUA should expand the amount of information it gives potential merger partners on the membership of the credit union, NAFCU President/CEO Fred Becker wrote the agency.

Becker wrote NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz that "it is our understanding that the information NCUA currently provides to potential merger partners on issues related to field of membership is limited. Going forward, we ask that the agency supply a credit union that is a potential partner with as much information as possible regarding field of membership issues it may encounter should it seek to pursue the merger in question..''

Becker also praised the agency for setting up the Merger Partner Registry which began operation last year.
