STCU will ring in the new year with a new leader.
Executive Vice President Tom Johnson has been promoted to president/CEO.
As the fourth president in the Spokane, Wash.-based credit union's 76-year history, Johnson replaces Steve Dahlstrom, who retires Friday after 30 years at STCU, including 20 years as its president/CEO.
A former vice president of Whitworth University, Johnson was on the STCU board of directors from 1994 through 2006. He served as STCU vice president of administration in 2006 and was promoted to executive vice president in early 2010.
"I have had the privilege of being directly involved with STCU for the past 16 years," Johnson said. "Now I have the honor and responsibility to lead our organization.
