Truliant Provides Hands-On Learning Opportunity to N.C. Students

A student-run credit union powered by Truliant Federal Credit Union has been launched at a North Carolina high school.

East Forsyth Student-Run Credit Union was created to educate students about professional and financial responsibility, Truliant said.

"This partnership afforded us the opportunity to create an educational environment in which young people will have hands on experience in a financial setting," said Cindy Kanaley, Truliant member financial center manager.

Student teller Brittney Gray said, "I hope to learn more things like how to save, the right way to save and the types of loans you can use as I get older."

In addition to Gray, the full-service credit union is staffed by 9 other students who spent two days training with Truliant tellers and can even process their classmates' auto loan applications.
