A recent SHRM employee job satisfaction research report found that after job security, benefits are a top contributor to job satisfaction. When it comes to employee retention it pays to continue to provide a strong benefits package. The research revealed that communicating the value of the organization's benefits package so that employees fully understand all of their options and the true value of their benefits package is vital. To help ensure the benefits program is valued, understood and used by staffers, communication methods ranging from total compensation statements, benefits workshops or benefits fairs to employee meetings and social networking tools have been found effective. The report also advised HR to conduct regular plan reviews and have a system in place that simplifies and encourages employee feedback.
